After more than 25-years away from the microphone, Wes is returning to his roots with his most ambitious project to date: the 2026 recording project that explores the contrast between youthful ambition and the deep contentment found in the present.
From Southeast Texas to the Heart of Texas Country in Austin—and everywhere in between.
Wes McClelland isn’t your typical newcomer to the Nashville music scene. He’s a man who has lived a lot of life, and you can hear every mile of it in his voice. Raised in Orange, Texas, Wes grew up on the grit and soul of the Gulf Coast, fueled by the timeless sounds of George Jones, Hank Williams, Elvis Presley and George Strait.
While music has always been his heartbeat, Wes spent the last 25 years building a powerhouse career in the automotive industry and advertising world. As a General Manager and industry veteran, he mastered the art of the deal and the value of a handshake. But even while navigating the fast-paced world of digital marketing and car dealerships, the songs never stopped writing themselves in his head.
In 2001, Wes stepped away from the mic to honor his family after the sudden loss of his father, Joe. Today, he’s returning to the stage with the kind of stories only two decades of life can write. Wes' music is a blend of authentic Texas roots and high-caliber Nashville production. Partnering with Dark Horse Recording and Grammy record producer Dave Hagen, Wes’ music aims for the heart, reflecting the clarity that comes from a life well-lived.
When Wes is not in the studio at Dark Horse Recording in beautiful Franklin, TN—or on his soon-to-be Texas radio tour, you’ll find Wes in Sugar Land, Texas, embracing the roles that matter most.
The Song—What I Know Now (Available: 02.26.26)
Wes McClelland’s debut single, "What I Know Now," serves as a powerful anthem of hindsight and redemption. It is a reflective country song that explores the contrast between youthful ambition and the deep contentment found in the present.
Inspired by the 23-year gap between his early musical pursuits and today, the song captures the essence of Wes’ journey: the discovery that true fulfillment isn't found in the chase, but in the love and faith of family—specifically his wife, Michelle, and their son, Weston.
This record isn't about chasing trends; it’s about the wisdom that only comes with time. It’s a blend of traditional country storytelling and the modern Texas sound, backed by some of the finest musicians in the music business. Through his partnership with WesMac, LLC and Etymon Music Publishing (BMI), Wes is taking the reins of his career, proving that it’s never too late to chase a dream—especially when you have a story worth telling.
"I’ve spent years helping others tell their stories in the business world. Now, it’s finally time to tell mine." — Wes McClelland
