To the fans, friends, and fellow musicians:
There’s a specific kind of magic found in country music. It’s the kind of music that doesn’t just play in the background; it pulls up a chair and meets you exactly where you are.
For me, songwriting, like that of Wes McClelland, is about more than just a catchy melody or a rhyme that fits. It’s about the vulnerability of taking life’s lessons—the mountain-top highs, the long-night heartaches, and those quiet realizations at 2:00 AM—and turning them into something we can all lean on. When I step into the recording studio, my goal isn't just to record a track; it’s to capture the honesty that first made me fall in love with composing music.
Songs like "What I Know Now" come from the truth that none of us are finished products. We’re all works in progress. Recording this music has been my way of bridging the gap between the man I was twenty years ago and the person I am today.
It’s an honor to create songs that I hope do more than just entertain you. I hope they inspire you to look back at your own path with a little more grace and a whole lot of pride.
Thank you for listening, for connecting, and for being a character in this unfolding story.
Blessings,
~Wes
